Description
The Dufftown-Glenlivet 75cl 1980s, often an 8-year-old expression, is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky known for its rich, balanced, and fruity profile. During the 1980s, Dufftown distillery, then owned by Arthur Bell & Sons, bottled whiskies under the “Dufftown-Glenlivet” name to associate with the renowned Glenlivet region. These vintage whiskies are characterized by their “pure malt” label, a designation no longer permitted for modern bottles.

  • Nose:

  • Palate:
Rich and balanced, with a creamy texture. Flavors include buttered toast, sliced bananas, green apple, and subtle oak notes.

  • Finish:
A long, lingering finish with hints of fresh flowers, sweet honey, delicate vanilla, and sometimes a touch of pine.

  • Age:
Typically an 8-year-old, but some 10-year-old bottlings exist.

  • Ownership:
Bottled by Arthur Bell & Sons during their ownership of the Dufftown distillery.

  • “Pure Malt”:
Reflects the labeling practices of the time, where the term “pure malt” was used for what is now called “single malt”.

  • Speyside Character:
Represents a classic Speyside style, known for its soft, gentle, and fruity profile.

  • Collectible:
These vintage bottles are sought after by whisky enthusiasts and collectors.
