Wine casks are great for imparting a wealth of fruity notes to whisky, and Glen Moray knows this fact particularly well indeed. What we’ve got here is a single malt from the Glen Moray Distillery which has been given a finishing period in casks that previously held Chardonnay wine. An intriguing choice, making for some excellent Speyside whisky.
Nose Lemon, honey, pineapple, vanilla ice cream, buttered bread.
Palate More vanilla, now with biscuity notes in support. Still has a lot of fresh fruit vibrancy.
Finish A soft hint of woody spice.
