Lagavulin Distillers Edition is an annual Islay single malt Scotch whisky that is double-matured in sherry cask wood after its initial aging, which adds layers of intense, sweet, and rich raisin-like flavors to the distillery’s signature coastal peat smoke. This limited release is known for its complex palate, featuring strong peat, maritime smoke, sweet caramel, and salty notes with a long, lingering finish of fruit, peat, and oak spice.Double Maturation:After its primary maturation, the whisky undergoes a second maturation period in American or European oak casks that have been seasoned with Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry.

Flavor Profile:It combines Lagavulin’s characteristic smoky, earthy peat with the rich, raisiny sweetness and fruity notes from the PX casks.

Nose:Expect an aroma of peat, vanilla, and sweet raisins, often with hints of roast malt and fig. 

Palate:The taste features robust maritime smoke, sweet caramel, coffee notes, salted caramel, and a deep, complex sherry character.
