Description
The GlenAllachie 10 Year Old Cask Strength is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky known for its rich, fruity, and spicy character, often described as a “cherry bomb” due to the influence of its various cask types. It’s a non-chill filtered whisky with natural color, bottled at cask strength, typically around 58-60% ABV.

  • Cask Maturation:
Matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, red wine casks, and virgin oak casks.

  • Flavor Profile:
Expect a nose of red fruits (strawberries, raspberries), toasted malt, and hints of cherry and almond. The palate offers flavors of red berries, black pepper, oak spice, ginger, cinnamon, and a caramel sweetness. The finish can include sweet berries, caramel, oak, baking spices, and lingering ginger and cinnamon notes.

  • Cask Strength:
Bottled at its natural cask strength, which can vary but is usually around 58-60% ABV, giving it a powerful and intense flavor.

  • Appearance:
Often has a deep chestnut or reddish hue due to the influence of the sherry and red wine casks.

  • Non-chill filtered and no added color:
This allows for the full expression of the whisky’s natural flavors and character.
